Children listened intently to author Destry Ramey as she read and they searched for “Sylvester,” the little bee hidden on the pages of Why Am I Dark? Each child used their hand to draw their special paw print and went home with a pencil and coloring page from Hunter and Ramona, the stars of the books.

Young at Art Children’s Art Center would like to show our deeply felt appreciation for all of those who helped to make the book launch party of “Why Am I Dark?” a fabulous success! Chris Ramey, owner of the star pugs donated two, 1 hour playtime sessions at Dog Beach & Kim Howell donated one free week of Young At Art lessons at the raffle. Local business owners donated additional raffle prizes. The second in a series of ten children’s books called The Adventures of Hunter & Ramona Pug Series, “Why Am I Dark?” shows the value of being different seen through the eyes of the pugs.
